OK! i donated, registered. downloaded the world exe. got the unlock "regi0000.dat" in the same directory just like MIT said to. but, i get a funky error when i try to start up my world:
"Error executing client program.
Check your client is correctly installed at the location specified in the 'Options->General Options' window."
i know it sounds straightforward, but nothing in general options tells me where its supposed to be installed. please help.
HELP! cant get registered world running :((
in the server, under the Options Menu, General Options, theres a spot for the local client.
type in the location of theuniversal.exe (not the galaxy.exe).
if you installed everything in the default locations, put in c:\program files\The Universal\Clients and for 'client to use' put in theuniversal.exe

ok i figured out what the problem was , i didnt have it in the right folder. i fixed that and now i get another error:
"fatal error binding port.
this usually means another application is using this port number for communications.
if you are not aware of other active internet based programs, try rebooting. (tried that)
otherwise you should set a valid unused port number in the serverconfig.txt file.(tried that too, nothing happened... do i need to redo the router settings too?)
the program will now exit."
it looks like the world stays connected, but im just trying to figure out if i can get this error to go away anyway. any ideas?
