Account Freezing?

Post by Aerasol »

Before I posted this, I searched for other topics related to freezing an account or w/e and as far as I can tell it has never been stated as a service that the staff will perform for a player. I will be leaving next week for an extensive 3rd-world type work related trip (even under the circumstances, I would find it rather inappropriate to try and play a game on a work trip anyway...) and thought I might as well look into account freezing as I really have nothing to lose in this situation (except my account and all...). This is just a game, but it is a pretty fun game, and I was just wondering If account freezing is possible first off, and if it is I would rather like to request my account be frozen (having my zion character frozen or w/e would be a bonus if that's possible).

Contact the world owners to get your character frozen on their worlds.
They'll need your character name for that.
AFAIK, you can't be frozen in space...but your account won't be deleted for at least 30 days, probably even six months.

Ok, thanks. Mit is the owner of zion, but there may be some other guys like fooli that could freeze an account on zion. My name is definitively "Aerasol" across the board. Got a week left, but that still may be short notice, so sorry for that and no worries if it doesn't get done in time.

p.s.
What kind of stats and things can be frozen on a planet? Just want to get an idea for my going-away yard sale/give-away.

I'm sure someone with more knowledge than me will correct me if I'm wrong... but the only thing you can freeze is health. And there's no health on Zion. For other worlds, you'll need to ask the world owner.

In space, no-one can hear you freeze :]

I mean... it's impossible to freeze a galaxy record: it'll get recycled if you don't log in for 30 days AND if the server needs to create a record for a new player AND if it so happens that it chooses your record. Having said that, I could sort out a kind of manual freeze for you since you're going off to do Good Deeds on foreign shores. That is, I could grab a list of what you have today and replace it for ya if your account gets wiped.

Final thing to say is, we might think about resettting the galaxy anyway at the end of the year, so if you're gone for a few months this might all be academic... everyone would be starting again (in space, not on worlds) if that happens.

Hope that helps/sorry if it doesn't, etc :)

a health freeze will also stop the inactivity timer from affecting the person. so even on zion, it would be helpful.

Well, I don't mean to put anyone out or anything. If the galaxy does reset, I can't see why it would be fair for me to get all my junk back. However, putting modesty aside, as I do enjoy this game, whatever action is taken, as well as all the comments posted thus far, is much appreciated. My primary motive for originally posting was just to get the myth of "account freezing" out in the open again and see if there were any real precedents for it.

Ok, you're frozen on Zion and I've just taken a list of your gal inventory, credits etc.

Have fun wherever you're going...
