two things

Post by DvdGStwrt »

Once - I can't fire in Federation space but others can fire missles at me.

Two - I lost all of my cargo when I was hit by that missle although I was not destroyed.

Care to explain what is happening?

My cargo was 31 computers - all of my credits.

you can fire in fed space. just not if your close to a space station .

if you logged off under red alert, it counts as a loss.

I didn't log off, and I was between aria and Zion I tried to fire and got the message about not able to fire missiles in federations space. Got hit by a missile and the screen when white, locked up. After restarting the game all of my inventory was gone.

But hey it doesn't matter.

I believe (from experimentation) if your within missile range of a federation planet your missiles will not work(500 whatevers),but if your opponent is not within missile range of a planet and you are then they can fire upon you.

Well it doesn't really matter. I only spend once in a blue moon with this game, everytime I return the rules and game play changes and each time I get the short end of the stick.

I figured that something like planetary orbit would have an effect on weapons or something like that.

Just imagine my surprise to find that my shields are no good and that missiles can fire on me near Zion. Last time I was here that was not the case.

If I play again, I bet it will change again.

So no worries.

No worries, I have decided to not return to Federation space since that is where the pirates and criminal element hangs out.

I am seeking that other collection of Stellar Systems that does have a well tuned government that has abolished piracy and has police for criminal elements such as the Federation is known for.

Of course I come from a world that is over 200 parsecs from the Federation, a nice quiet place where we do not have this criminal element attacking innocent freighters conducting much needed shipping to planets.

It is highly probable that I will move further away from the region of space that is well known for its barbaric and criminal species. The outer systems appear to be far more civilized. And at least there if one is attacked they can fight back.

If such a Union of peaceful worlds is not out there, then I suppose I will just have to form an Alliance of Planets which will combine their resources to build a defensive fleet of warships to defend themselves... Perhaps launch preemptive strikes against the Federation reducing it to a more manageable slave race.
