Almost overnight (in the galactic time frame, anyway), the galaxy witnessed the birth of the new pirate clan (NR, I think, its name). Many people are scoffed at the wannabe leader and even wanted to get him banned.
But let's leave it for staff to consider... The rest of us have to face it - as of now, there were no bannable violations, and the new leader is not a wannabe anymore. The new clan has risen, and it may turn out to be even stronger and fearful than the old one.
By looking with a sober eye from a distance, trying to stay uninvolved, what did I see?
He is rising hell in the ranks of (shall we say now?) old pirate clan. The leader has won the battle against Vinn himself, is proud of it and busy making his team strong. Today I witnessed a conversation between him and one of the SR members. They had a battle, SR member lost, and surprisingly, his attitude towards the newcomer changed abruptly from scorn to respect!
Of course he is hated by almost everyone, but that's taken for granted - good and nice guys don't become pirate clan leaders
The other day I encountered a very strange noob. It was a cargo ship, had a ridiculous bounty of 50cr or so (and that was my reason to attack him), had no money, and, I realize now, had not even shields. But he had a cargo hold of 18 military! Some ships stayed in the same system, apparently doing nothing. How is that possible?
Then Decahwn (NR leader) contacted me on the channel and said not to interfere (but it was too late, I've done my job
).From the channel talks (and the new clan leader is veeeery verbose, i should add) I found that they always share their prey, and a bit later I found that they all gonna have Cobras or better very soon. Which means, I accidentally hit one of them in the process of sharing someone's bounty.
Which means, very soon we gonna have lots of noobs in advanced ships flying around pirating and wrecking havoc in the gal in general. It will be very easy for them to acquire new members, because of easy advance in the ships and weapons that this system promises. I am sure the majority of noobs will join such clan with pleasure.
So, watch out, SR, you may become outdated very soon. A fleet of strong ships is being prepared right under your nose. And while having a strong ship is not guarantee for a win, I am sure the training and tactics will follow.
As for the war between new clan and SR, I am always happy when pirate dogs kill each other...
As for the poor beginning traders, well, I don't know what to say. These NR guys, since they acquired their ships simply by grant, they don't have the taste of arduous water trading, they don't have respect for other people's time and effort. They will just come and grab you. Noob killing will reign. You have no chance other than join the pirate force, I guess.
As for me, I think I will have no other choice than to adopt the same strategy, but used for trading and hunting: I will take noobs who got the tase of trading, who hate pirates and want to take their money back, and lift them up the money ladder, to Cobra with phasers. Of course, I will not be able to help them all, but at least some close friends I might help. To balance out the coming monster.
