If your uncle is anything like me and it is his computer you need to convince him that his system will be safe from attack/virus etc.

Have him come to The Universal main page and read up on The Universal http://theuniversal.net/index.php

Without passwork and username you will not be able to get around his system defenses which are there for a purpose and he is in his right mind to protect his system with firewalls. Only a fool would leave their system wide open for attack.

Either Mit or Fooli can tell you exactly how safe the game and world client's are when it comes to virus attacks/spyware/adware/ etcetera being uploaded to your computer when you are connected.

Cheers

Running the game is no more dangerous than any other activity that involves connecting your PC to the Internet. In many ways it's less dangerous than email (for example). If safety's an issue, all I can say is we've had tens of thousands of people at least install the game, several thousand people who've played it, a reasonable number of folk who play all the time, and in the last 6 years or so we've never had any problems with security, other than occasionally someone finding ways to hack their client or this website in some minor (if irritating) way.

We also have this, should it be The Sort Of Thing That Uncles Like :) -

You might have seen their logo on the download pages. We didn't ask them to certify us, they found us through one of the many mmo forums. They test the client software from time to time and we've always had their "guaranteed clean" type status.
