If there are no stocks in the building, you cant work and thus wont get payed.
Try buying whatever the building needs and sell it to the building.

yes, you get paid on zion, but, like it says on every building: (while producing items)

if the building can't make stuff, you don't get paid.

if a building is full (300 wood for a lumbermill) then it can't make anything and you don't get paid :P

When I was a lumber jack, other than wearing dresses (Python reference there ;)) I not only worked in a wood farm I also would buy the wood from my job and sell it to those places that needed it.

I advise first finding places that need wood. As I recall the Car-showroom bought wood and there were (this was a while back) a lot of car showrooms in need of wood.

If your employeer was wise he/she set the sales of wood to 1-2 D and the car showroom was buying at 2-3. Either you break even on the sales or you make 1d per wood.

Mining can oil can do this too. There is usually enough balance of the using buildings that actually need supplies.

This not only helps you in that you can make a tidy profit from buying/selling and you can empty the stocks at your place of work so you can make more product thus money, it also helps the companies you sell too so their employees (while gone even) can have something to work with to make product.
