if everybody could make thier own stuff, then most people would do that.
most would make thier own vehicles, food, fuel, etc
thier would barly be any need to buy stuff as you could make it yourself
barly anybody would make money because they woulden't sell stuff because alot would make thier own stuff
thier'd be almost no economy to the game.

it will on other islands where the economies are larger and easier. hence why it isen't in place.
if you could do it, then others could/would too
besides, how many people do you know that park thier cars in thier livingrooms?
most use a garage for that
like tom said, its to encourage business and to not be self sufficient.
it doesen't stop businesses from selling/buying, no clue where you got that from.

houses have no functions on Zion at all... in most worlds the main purpose of houses is to store food/drink whilst you are not playing as there is a reduced usage of these products in order to survive whilst you are at home.
if you want to store vehicles that is the purpose of the garage.. however i understand that there has been some problems with garages on imperial where vehicles were getting stuck in the garage but you never know that may have been fixed by now
if you are asking this to increase the capacity of vehicles that you have made then that is another economy crashing request... i.e. if you have more vehicles than your factory can hold then there obviously isnt enough demand for the vehicles and your cash is being tied into vehicles as opposed to being re-circulated into the economy.
what your asking is for a 'rule' to be changed for your own benefit without acknowledging the wider implications it would have for the world once that 'rule' was changed for everybody.

if your refering to you making vehicles you can just stock them in the factory where they are made.I mean, why wouldn't i be able to stock ownmade stuff?

1. There are no garages on Zion, and you can't build them.Magicfinger wrote:if you want to store vehicles that is the purpose of the garage.. however i understand that there has been some problems with garages on imperial where vehicles were getting stuck in the garage but you never know that may have been fixed by now

2. You can't stock the vehicles in the factory they are made, it still gives the error.
So, on Zion, the rule is not helping the economy or anything.
It's only annoying.

well the solution would be to not accidently take it out... if you do and dont want it then discard it and learn the lesson of not accidently taking things out when you dont want themYou create a tractor.
You accidentaly take it out.
You cannot put it back.
It is useless until a vehicle store gets enough investment to buy it.
The homes on Zion do (well, will) have a use.. they're to hide from ppl trying to kill you. (You cant be damaged when youre in your house).
True, there isnt much point in the 'cant stock made products in your home' rule on Zion in this particular case but then I also dont see much point in you wanting to stock em? The vehicles don't take space in your inventory so it doesnt matter if you're having to carry em around all the time.
Having the vehicles kept only in your inventory also simplifies the game when the 'kill a player and destroy his vehicle' rule starts being a major factor.

This leads on to a suggestion, methinks.
One thing that would be quite useful for players would be a warehouse. it literally doesn't do anything, it just stores products. as far as I know, (I haven't played about with the building dats of late) it should be possible to make these - as long as owners can put their own stock in.
Plus, we can just limit them to sertain materials - so we could have a vehicle garage, a crop silo, an animal storage facility - the list is endless.
Have a think.

vdz, the soloution if u have 'accidently' removed a vehicle is simple... and has been since forever, ok you set the buy price of that vehicle to 1d, you have 1d invested in your building, then u sell your vehicle factory to your mate (unlike someone who will sell it on, possibly to kitchen for 100s, nameing no names there... they know who they are) for 1s, then sell your vehicle to your building for 1d, then get them to sell you your factory back for 1s, then hey presto your vehicle is re-stocked, and alternatively if you want to have a vehicle and stock it in a home then u could do the same as before, but set the vehicles for sale 2d then sell the vehicle and buy it back 2d, meaning u can stock ur car into your home!
if that made sense without paragraths thats how easy it is
