not all the players show up as being in the system - even tho they are there, bit frustrating when they're the designated targets for the night
also - crashlanded on Megacityone to repair hull damage. when I reelaunched and tried to infimp back to the fight, I kept being told that I could only use infimp in space - even tho I was (and I was the only person showing in the system for some reason)
relstarting the game had me back at the password page for M1, and the only fix I could find was to fly cross-system and crashland somewhere else.
fight night glitches
I got many millions of glitches but I will only say thye most important one. I was chasing Vinnashal almost to destroy him and get the prize but all of a sudden evryone in the system dissapeard!!! I reloged but it didn't work. At last I could see everybody on the system after about the 7th relog but then I found out they got his prize already This made me furious. The galaxy server also got very slow, must have been beacause of so many players. The most I saw tonight was 45!!!!!! :O

the only glitches i found was that after fightnight i had to go to a spacesation and buy shields, and of course fightnight changed my leagal status from clean to one time offender. being as shields are not expensive, and i have since joined SR, i am not concerned about either, just wanted to report them
The main problem I had was once the fighting started everone would disapper and I would lock up. After rebooting and login back in the game would freeze up after a random amount of time. Before the fighting started I was fine flying around. The last time as soon as I login I inf drived out and was fine in other systems. Not sure if it was too many ppl in the room or what.

Re: fight night glitches
Yeah I had the same problem with not being able to see all the people.Sonro wrote:not all the players show up as being in the system - even tho they are there, bit frustrating when they're the designated targets for the night

This should be better/fixed in 0.50.5 - it can never be perfect.. some ppl on a lan, router or firewall will just fundamentally not be able to send messages to ppl in certain circumstances - but when the old client tried to resolve the NAT resolution issue, it could sometimes suffer from packetloss. One lost message would mean a player wouldn't be visible, and even your decent broadband connections occasionally lose messages. The new client keeps trying for a few seconds to compensate for the possible packetloss - tho i cant test it extensively alone, i suspect this will generally make it all much more reliable.not all the players show up as being in the system - even tho they are there, bit frustrating when they're the designated targets for the night
Sonro's main other issues here (landing on planets etc) i'll resolve separately (and are mostly minor for now).
Mishka's problem does sound suspiciously like a dodgy net connection to me (which wouldnt be at all surprising if he's on dialup - as being in lots of activity in space is really only designed for a decent broadband connection). Optimisations will continue with regard to coping with inferior connections, but there is obviously a limit to what can be done.
The crashing Icarius experienced is probably related to having large amounts of ppl in one place (and probably related to a graphics limitation caused by that).. i will have to test this further with more ppl around, but for now, will close off this bug. Please re-raise any issues in a separate thread if you feel the 0.50.5 version does not adequately fix em.
(oh and thanks to everyone for the feedback on the event)
