with the world running, go into the game, and crash your ship into an unclaimed unknown planet.

I, too, need a better stardrive. However, it seems I got lucky- I found an unknown world in a system accessible through the Finite Improbability Drive.

currently the galaxy should be auto placing worlds so you no longer need to worry about a stardrive and finding an unknown planet.

don't know all the steps (if there are any) for it.
maybe try just bring up the world and then inf-imping to it if you have an infimp drive to see what galaxy its in.

imfimp drive

Post by onionguy92 »

Yeah, but that's the problem- you need an infimp drive. they usually cost about 170 cr. However, to make money trading you need a cargo ship, which costs 90 cr. That leaves you with 10 cr. There's not much you can do there. I think all ships should automatically be equipped with infimps, because most people have them, so it's not worth making it something you have to pay a ton to get.

Is it so hard for you to trade to make some money?

I don't think that was his point, i think he meant that its useless having something so generally used that it should have a price. Which is kinda true but its also for new players to aim for, they will learn very quickly what its for and know how it works a while later, then they will see the benefits just in time for them to have enough cash saved to buy one :)

True enough lmao, but doesn't it only take you to your world and when you launch, end up where you were previously? Not the system where your planet it?

the purpose of the your world button is to allow you to get to your planet without using the instant transfer to your planet in order to move around in space (i.e cheat :) )

The infimp is deliberately put at a 'price' because i want people to explore the game a bit before, and in order to, get to their world. a) Its part of the 'adventure' and b) it means worlds arent generally made by someone who hasn't experienced at least a little bit of the game.

Note too, that you can also get infimps for a very reasonable cost in prestige. (By trading prestige at starports on the planets). Getting enough prestige for an infimp should just be a matter of playing for a little while on a few of the starting planets - nothing too taxing, but enough to give you a few ideas about world owning & building before you go off to your own.

Least, thats the idea behind it.. :]
