have fixed the chat server connection, as for the other one a bit more would be good are you getting a "Ble Screen of Death"? , are you crashing to desktop? Any error messages? was the auto updater failure about the same time as monkeycollection.com went offline? , certainly the voice comms is a likely starting point but ive had a couple of goes here without a crash.

Well when I would try to start the game it would go to the main screen, I would press continue, then my whole compter would shut down, and when it was reloaded it said," A Serious Error has Occured :!:"

Its seems to be working fine after a redownloaded the game. This happened to me last night.

Happening to me after some stardrives. Causes computer to restart in the middle of the game. Seems to happen at random times but it has happened about 6 times the last hour.

No, but every so often I get a windows error that cause the game to crash. It says the error is a signature error. This usually happens when I try to lay down tiles on my planet or when I go from small mode, back to normal.

Have been getting the same window problems after a few star drives. I notice a crackling sound and screen flickers when it happens. Was using ver 5.05 and was out very deep and on the edge of the gal. Has happened at lest 3 times now and have had to reload or repair XP to get the computer back up.

To rule out anything causeing this other than the universal I changed out harddrives and did a fresh windows install and reloaded the game. Still happened with ver5.05.

Win XP pro serpack 2
AMD Athlon XP1700+
1 gig ram
Gforce FX 5200 128 meg
univeral 5.05

Yes have updated drivers and Directx. Some how it is corupting the boot sector. To get the computer back up I have to use the system restore console and us the fixmbr and fixboot comand then let the xp disk repair the win xp instalation. Here is the latest info I get from the blue screen of death.

CRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL

Technical information
***STOP! 0x0000000A (0x0000000C, 0x000000FF, 0x00000000, 0x804E8A13)

I notice that just before the system crashes that the sound starts crackling and the voice that says stardrive engade gets garbled.

I am not sure what was causing this. Last window reload seems to fix it. But I did move from out of the area I was in (M-19) with an other computer and it did fine. Not sure if it was a hardware configuration problem or what. Have played for an hour tonight back on my main computer and it did fine.
