Description:
I change my change my chat by ?SETCHAT SR and when its opened I type ; and my message no message is sent, and I'm [??] for people on the channel. It seems to work for other people, but it doesn't work for my game.

Chat server occasionally broken (With [??] users)
I can't remember exactly why this happens but it's a symptom of having multiple chat server records, or something. I believe the solution is to wipe your chat record (this doesn't affect any other part of the game) but to do that I'll need to know your galaxy username.
/edit - Oh, and this isn't really a bug as such, so i'll close this post once we've sorted it.

I meant your galaxy username... the username you set up originally to join the game - not your nickname. I've just checked both the names you posted and neither of them has a chat server record, so I'm guessing either a) I'm being a chimp (quite likely) or b) your galaxy username is something different. Mail me with the details if u like - blahfooliblah at theuniversal.blahnet, without the blahs of course :)

hmm we have never really got to the bottom of why it happens, it completely fails to trigger any of the asserts we set and the only real reason behind it (the chat server fails to allocate you a user id) is not logical either. so until we can pick this up in the debugger we will have to take the only course of action possible.
i have restarted the chat server which should hopefully fix the problem, there is no point in deleting the record as the chat server does not hold records of players.

i have a new comp and installed the game and am getting the same problem.
i didnt have it b4 on my old comp.
i show up as [??] in pm chat in space.
if i type; and a message it freezes the game and my comp.
i also have no guild channel any more
