You've asked a lot of questions, but by giving you straight answers we'd ruin the fun of experimenting with your island...
  • What settings should i have on Hunger&Thirst and Health decays and suchs?.

I suggest playing with the settings to achieve a balance. It also depends on what type of Island you want to run...

Economy : Its not good to have high hunger and thirst because everyone will die before they become accustomed to the island.

Battle : People will be dead soon anyway, so its not worth having hunger + thirst...

    Get what im saying :D
  • how do i make it so you dont die of old age?

Can you die of old age? Havent played this game in a while, so maybe Mit's implemented it while ive been out of action :(
  • And how do i register my isle!

I think Mit has set up a system where-by you pay to have your island registered... http://tin.gameislands.net/
  • i need more than 30 building types

Download more then, remember though that every visitor to your Island has to download the models, and not all of them have broadband ..
Hope ive been of assistance -

not possible to die of old age that i know of yet

i don't think registration is available yet, but once it is available, you'll have upto 50 buildings instead of the 30.

The sun is always present.. tho if you've not started time moving it'll be nighttime and hence - no sun in the sky : Set the "Daylength" setting on the World page - 300 is default for a 5 minute day-cycle - or use *settime to set a particular fixed time for your island. (*settime 8000 would make it permanently mid-day)

Similar applies to the sky - tho that can also be affected by the seasonal weather settings on the landscape page.

The water around ur island isnt configurable - im guessing that the 'oily' appearance is again related to it being midnight.. the water doesnt look great at night, i'll grant ya..
something for me to work on lata..

the advanced directX settings can also make water oily and things look unusually dark on some cards. i generally use the basic settings on all my nvidia and ati cards (ie: practically everything :P)

if you've tweaked that, try givin' it a tweak back and see if that helps.

trees killing the landscape is a known bug in 99.3 and should be fixed in all subsequent releases.

you can kill all trees on the island by typing

*delallmap 2

for more handy delallmap stuff, refer to the manual under customizing your island---->landscape textures, and scroll to the bottom.

Well, as I am setting up my own island, I saw this on the manual:
Max Health Decay Rate - Daily max-health decay rate. The maximum health (unlike the health) cannot be restored. The main health can never rise above the maximum. (x10 - A value of 1 would reduce the max health by 10 points each gameday - giving a maximum possible lifespan of 768,000 gamedays. (Over 2000 years)

That's pretty much of dieing (now how the hell does one write that in english?) of old age.

PS. nice avatar, was I your source of inspiration? :)
