As in the image below: I'm getting annoying "popup" with the landscape in normal 3rd person cam views. Using culling mode 1, texmaps and main surfaces only (the 130kb ish jpgs you saw yesterday, nothing too massive), and drawdist is 250. Don't get this problem in first person view.
Second one: in top-down cam, I get landscape rendered "underneath" the landscape: it rotates into view as you rotate the player. Can only see it at the edges of the map.
Both issues existed pre-49.9

I've sent u the .isl. Only other thing to mention, it's not just at the edge of the landscape...
...and it's related to zoom level - at a certain distance (but not before or after) this happens; and it changes when I switch to culling mode 0. At which point, I can see hardly any of the landscape, but the "ghost landscape" underneath disappears.

topdown view thing is fixed. client 0.49.9.3
you will get lotsa popup at 250 drawdist in that culling mode atm.. at default (350) it should generally be ok-ish unless u let the cam zoom out a lot.
The culling mode 1 stuff is still wip (particularly with the textures it uses on the medium and low res landscape pieces), and it needs better stitching of the different detail regions and options to all a modifier on the culling distance and to have walls or buildings displayed in the medium and low regions.
you might be better off using culling mode 0, or limiting the camera ranges, until that stuff is more complete.
