MC can't set material properties for LoDs

Post by Fooli »

Software:Model Convertor
Version Number:1.9

With models with LoDs

Description:
If you set a model with LoDs to use, say, alpha blending... the material change doesn't get applied to medium and low LoDs.

I'm pretty sure this used to work, and now doesn't (since material properties changed to global properties, maybe?).

id only expect this to work if you apply the materials to each of the lod models separately, before combining them into the single model. Thats still possible, aye?

Having an option to apply the property changes to all lods is probably wise tho..

Yeh, that's still possible.

I only came across this cos I was trying to make a special "matrixy" style planet texture for virtual worlds like netrac & bongtrek, using bitmaps with transparencies. It looks quite nice double-sided, but the planet model isn't double sided... and I cannae be arsed to rebuild the model.

So yeh, it'd be nice at some point to be able to change properties for a LoD model all in one go - if, for instance, someone wants to make an existing model transparent or something (well ya never know).

Not a biggie anyway, particularly as the client seems to look for jpg planet textures only...?

modeller's log - supplemental...

If you Move a model in the MC also doesn't affect LoDs - only the highest LoD model actually moves.
