Are you sure it isn't a god that does that? Gods have a command for that...

servers also have a security setting that spec locks players who try to use speed hacks.

it would be quite hand if yuo go into spec lock and the world owner is around to ask them to check the server outputs to see if it is reporting you as using "Speed Hack" that is of course assuming your not :)

Yup, I'm getting this on Phong now. Server says suspected speed hack. It's more than a little bit annoying...

It started soon after I decided to rebuild the world... so I've pretty much changed everything. Seems more likely to happen, though, when the puter's busy - in this case, moving fast while building a wall and listening to radio in the background. It might even be getting noticeably jerky just before the spec thing happens... or it might just be a coincidence I spose.

turn off the speed hack serverside if its on (its off by default)

Shouldnt be on on zion tho, so will need to check into that further

Yeh, turning it off is a workable workaround. But it does kinda imply that speedhack protection is broke, dunnit ;)

Also, I don't remember ever turning it on. Did it become on by default in a recent update?

seemed to have this happen often recently on wednesday.

however, i think i found a cause for it. at the time it was happening, i had my upstream bandwidth being used up by a bittorrent client. i'm thinking that since my client coulden't send position updates fast enough to the server, it caused the bug when i seemed to move too fast due to the slow sending of position updates.
