Zaroba, zoric settings?

Post by Volaris »

Hey, I forgot to ask you when we talked earlier... I am a bit of a noob again since I havent played since the a-tractor days, the damage meter on buildings keep going up and up on zoric, when they max out are the buildings going to dissapear like on the republic?

if so, Is that normal for all servers?

its an option many world owners use, to keep the map fresh and prevent worlds filling up with disused buildings, but its not a compulsory feature. Each world owner can choose the rate at which each individual buildings decay, so on some worlds it doesnt happen. Usually, world owners use the settings to make the cheaper, first level buildings decay quickly but others that are more costly to build will decay more slowly or not at all.

If you want somebody's settings, go to their planet, and check [install folder]\Clients\Data. You'll find Settings.dat for that planet there.
If you want to view the settings, make sure you have the world server, and copy the settings.dat to the data folder of the world server. Then run your world and do *settings.
WARNING: DOING THIS ERASES YOUR WORLD'S SETTINGS. IF YOU WANT TO KEEP THEM, MAKE A BACKUP OF THEM.

of course, where possible, you should always ask the world owner if they mind you stealing their settings ;].. most ppl wont, and might even offer you a full copy of the .isl with settings, models and everythin..
