Building editor error glitch

Post by Jemrada »

I been working on a new building.dat and when I create a new building and copy a old building to it and delete the old one. The last building will turn in to the secound to the last building. Meaning it will create duplicate buildings and I have to recreate the last building that was on the list.

Yes it is. It seems since I am over 20 buildings it isn't doing it anymore.

mmm. cant replicate this.
i've tried starting with a new bdat, added 3 buildings, named 1a, 2b, 3c.. copied 1a over 3c, then deleted 1a, and im left with 2b, then 1a, as expected.
tried a few different variations on that theme and it all seemed ok. Could you confirm a replicable procedure for this please?

Launch Building editor.

Click New

Then create 4 buildings

Name them all different.

Now click on building 1 and click Add Building.

Now click on building number 4, click copy

Now click Building number 2, click paste

Ahh success, well we think so.

Now delete the building you copied, which will be number 4.

Watch what Building 5 does.

Buiulding 5 will actually delete instead fo Building 4

mm, that seemed ok to me. The fifth building moves up in the list (and its ID becomes 4), but it retained its name and all relevant info.
Either im missing something obvious or its maybe somethin that got fixed in other recetn changes ive made.
I'll put up a new bdated exe in a bit so you can check it. (The update will also have options to move buildings up and down within the list )
