Hmm jsut had this idea while i was deep in space and run out of fue;.
What about an item u can buy and jettison whereever u are. it has a serial number. once u jettisoned it u can infimp back to it........U can only have one of those and need to pick it up or destroy it before u can make a new port...

or how about remembering to check your fuel reserves
if something similar to what you describe came in - I bet it wouldn't be reusable or cheap
also makes it too easy - if you've found a fantastic place to buy or sell at megaprofit - but its a long way from the planet you're buying/selling from - what's to stop you using it as a cheap and easy shortcut rather than in an emergency situation?
if its set so that you cannot buy/sell while it's deployed - no point - cos you wouldn't be able to buy the emergency uridium supply anyway!

It is meant to be used as a shortcut. u woudnt be able to use it with cargo only to get to systems u alrdy visited...lil droppable pocket planets....If u buy cargo there u still had to go back to cirrus etc to sell em......but they would allow trade in both directions i mean noone flies to a system like to NE corner to buy stuff there and the flies all the way back.

Main stuff to be included in the next patch (in addition to the various bug fixes) that'll affect those few of you who like exploring deep space is a bunch of new, rare, 'space encounters'. I'm not gonna go into great detail about what or where they are - half the fun is in findin em - but they will add a few extra opportunities for unique gains (and devestating losses ). There'll be at least 20+ systems across the galaxy with 'unique' features (which includes a bunch of new stargates).

Encounter stuff is written, up to the point of me being able to go through one of em and gain something, but they're disabled for this version atm. Is mostly a matter of filling in a few bits of serverside stuff now, once done i'll activate em in 49.7..WIP additions like space guilds, legal status, encounters, auto-texmap generation, etc etc.
Most of these dont work yet - so if you see anything new and interesting-looking, assume it'll work in 0.49.7
well, nothin much right now (ive spent the last 5 days away from home on a work trip). Im hoping to get a bit of a programming sesh sometime in the next week or two, and priorities atm are finishing off all the wip stuff mentioned in the news post about .6 and doing a 3d lobby area in spacestations. (And of course, all the stuff in TDL forum and fixing all the currently open bug reports).
