Connecting to planet
Connecting to planet
Everytime I try to connect to a planet I get an error and the game freezes.
Also I have a question. Is the loggin screen supposed to come up every single time you run the game? Everytime I start the game again it comes up and I have to retype my email address. It seems like it's not getting registered or something.
[EDIT]
Also, just thought I'd mention it, I had installed this game before and the same thing happened except I could connect to planets but everytime I did, the loggin screen would appear again. So I would have to retype my email address when I started the game and every time I connected to a planet.

Are you serious? Tractor is from A Tractor...You have keep the original file. I compley shook that it uses an old file like that.Magicfinger wrote:are you starting the game from a shortcut? if so check the working path is the same as the orignal exe path otherwise it wont pick up the tractor.cfx file which provides the login details to the gal server.

But I perfer to call it A-Tractor Memorial because it reminds me of A-Tractor...I know its a D*mn Model but I like my way because it sounds better.zaroba wrote:yea, its a-tractor model. since the game was still named A-Tractor when the first model convertor came around. its also in the extention database at cknow.com curtosy of me submitting it and a few other of the games extensions last janurary.
don't know if it matters much and probably isen't the issue, but
is the pc yours or one in a school, library, or colledge campus? if so and if its useing windows xp, does your account have permissions to create or edit files in the TheUniversal directory and its subfolders? if not it might prevent the game from making the file. same could be said if the directories got write protected.
overall, if this problem can't be solved for you, i do know of a possible way around it.

I am using Windows XP, on a laptop at my house.
And the error message I get when I connect to a planet is just a generic windows error message. It's the one where it gives the option to "send" or "don't send" and error report, then the game closes.
I'm not sure but here are some things that might cause the login screen to reapear everytime:
I am using Norton Internet Security. I am also behind a router.
But the login screen isn't the big problem, because last time I had the game installed I still got the login screen error, but I COULD connect to planets. So if we can fix my planet problem that should be enough, the login error is just a minor annoyance.

This may have to be resolved in a later version... I feel so sry for you that you can't play...Oh well it better then not having a computer at all.

maybe you should try the A Tractor client. You can get it at http://www.gameislands.net. It's basically the universal with less worlds and has no space.
Actualy I do have it installed on my computer... I just don't use it very often because the planet I go to is not on the list.paintballkev812 wrote:maybe you should try the A Tractor client. You can get it at http://www.gameislands.net. It's basically the universal with less worlds and has no space.
