How come beta users where excluded form testing 49.5?

.5 has already been deployed using the auto-update system so a great majority of users are already using it.

I wonder if I have it... The auto-update system is like, just there? Or do I sometimes need to update that?

its automatic.
checks for an update everytime you start up the client.
