I own a town in Zion (the orelands) and i have 2 buildings selling stuff (i have set taxes - at least there is that percent number after the price) and i dont get any cash for the sales (2 mines) when i want to set the taxes to another amount it never works and just says (wait until 26, of year 29 ..)
could you set it that my town gets taxes.
Or if it is active then tell me what i have to do
problem with Zion taxes
I believe the "wait until year .." is the time it will take for the tax to change from what it was originally set to. When i first set up a town mine was at 5%. and it took a year or two to change to what i wanted. In some other post about taxes i read that if the tax does not amount to 1d or more it will not be charged and as ore mines sell at a low price this may be it. I have the same issue with my town and oil rigs and came to this conclusion. If this is not correct i also have the same problem.
Time to get detailed.
Taxes are sometimes paid, and sometimes not. Either way, the town owner gets none of it.
The low amounts thing is the fact that if, for example, the tax is 5%, anything lower than 2s is tax-free, because 19d/100%*5%=0.95d < 1d. Any tax lower than 1d is not paid.
Also, I can't seem to lower Lumengrid's taxes to 0%. It says it will in a few years, but it just doesn't happen.

The taxes disappear.
Reasons to own a town:
1) Buildings can be build at the place you built the town at. Sounds stupid, but it's very useful near the desert, for example.
2) You can choose to disallow other players to buy buildings until you change it again (I got about 3000s using this).
3) You rule if you have one.

you should (theoretically) still earn the taxes from new buildings being made in your town, and for sales on products over 2s. I have it on my list to re-check that this is all functioning correctly (i'm quite happy to accept that it aint)..
Sorry for the vagueness there.. but accept it as a part of the wonders of the Universe-al. :]
