bug - required relog after model or texture download

Post by zaroba »

it seems that on zoric 13, anytime model(s) are downloaded, you need to relog to see the models. then after getting the textures and 'unwanted texture file' warnings for each one, you need to relog a 2nd time to see the textures on the models.

might have something to do with zoric 13 useing subfolders in the buildings folder and vehicles folder.

remember seeing dev mentioning this in the gal chat. might be the same problem.

hmm...can't edit posts here anymore. oh wel :P

anyway, this only happens when you use subfolders to store models in the model folders.

Don't, then :P

But to be serious; if you really want to categorize stuff, you could do it by typing stuff in front of the names.
For example:
Building-OreMine.ATM
Building-Airport.ATM
Vehicles-Hovercraft.ATM
Vehicles-Tractor.ATM
Vehicles-TheSpecialVehicleThatsOnlyForVDZAndNobodyElseCanUseIt.ATM

That way, when sorted, stuff stays together.

could also just fix the bug like any other bug should be fixed :P

the ability to use subfolders was added to the game long ago, but nobody has ever used it yet. i think because its mostly unknown. everybody has always prefixed files for the past few years.
