HOW DO U PLAY THIS GAME!
HOW DO U PLAY THIS GAME!
HOW IN THE HELL DO I PLAY THIS GAME!!!!!
Depending where you are there's usually on-screen help buttons and prompts for the basic commands: these might be useful. This isn't quite like any other game out there, so yeh, it can be a bit confusing. You just have to free your mind :)
Incredibly basic overview:
In space you start with a little ship that you control with the arrow keys (left/right/up/down) and page up/page down (to accelerate/deccelerate). There's an entire game to be had just in space: you can fly about shooting people (in some regions) or, more usually, fly to space stations and do a bit of trading. Press F5 to access a map of the star system you're in. Click on a planet, then click on "currently targeting" to change it to "spacestation". You'll see arrows on screen telling you which way to go. When you get really close to a space station the F10 docking icon will light up - press F10 to, er, dock, play with the station computers and buy/sell stuff. Most menus, by the way, are controlled with the pgup/pg dn, home and end keys. Make money. Upgrade your ship. Explore. Etc...
Or...
Fly your spaceship into a planet, and you'll land on that planet. You can only do this when a planet is online - you can tell that by looking at the info displayed on screen and in the star system map. Once you're on a planet, you use the same basic commands and keys to move about, and use Ctrl to access buildings and things. Other than that, all worlds can be different - best thing to do is read the world's help texts (use the onscreen buttons) if it has any, or just ask someone what to do next on that world...
A lot of worlds are 'economy' worlds - ie, the point is to make money, stay alive, build up a little business empire, trade with other players - that kinda thing. Some worlds are a bit more combat-oriented; you might also be able to find worlds with car racing and stuff. A lot of worlds have some or all of these elements in different combinations - you just have to explore and see what's what. That's also part of the point of the game :)
Some people find a world they like and pretty much stay there. Most people do a bit of everything. It's up to you.
