when i blow up in space
when i blow up in space
what happens when someone does blow me up? do i lose all i have?
I really wish I'd found that out before as I was in a panic when being hunted down by someone out to hunt anyone in the system. I'm in a cargo transporter, which of course handles like a brick and he was in an X-fighter so was much faster. I thought I was doing really well surviving the attack, but it didn't really matter after all.Minku wrote:You currently just respawn at a nearby station... thats all.
Will there be future plans to change this to make it more challenging? It would make it more interesting if you lost your current ship but retained credits. You should then start in a default shuttle at the nearest station you were blown up and have to go from there.

and the strength of the Wolf is the Pack."
Does make more sense as it would at least add that edge on gameplay, even if it might annoy those that think their getting it easy up to now.Minku wrote:Going to be you lose cargo on death... and the other person gets it or some such.
However the obvious downside is that space piracy would then be on the increase.

So is piracy or players hunting down others considered an offence?
As I've mentioned in previous postings, I was hunted down all night one time by one individual before I realised that you've currently nothing to loose at the moment if you get blown up. So I was getting really anxious as I was carrying full cargo and was too far from the next station, so my best move was to call it a night in the end.
I didn't know if it was a case of if you're lucky to survive then great or you should mention to someone

It'll be one "path" for players to take in space. The whole thing is still work-in-progress, and will need careful balancing, but yes - shooting people and stealing their stuff will be a valid gameplay style.
Of course, as Kirby said - pirates create a market for "good guy" players who act as bounty hunters. It's easy to imagine cargo haulers paying for the services of ace pilots to accompany them on tricky trade routes. Also, I believe the plan is (like Elite) to have AI cops with significantly tough ships to protect people in the immediate vicinity of a space station - at least those in "safe" starting systems.
All that space opera stuff is on the to do list. I think. Can't wait :)
