Owning Towns ??

What is the benifit from owning towns? I own several but they dont make any money when someone builds there. Shouldnt you get paid when people build in your town? I guess the only good thing about owning a town is you can veto family members from building, but there has to be more to it, or is there?

currently, thier is no money benifit to owning a town.
only real benifit is to make more room for you, your family, and everybody else to expand on the island.

think in the future, town owners will be able to set a tax on new buildings so they will get income form people building in the towns.

wouldnt it be better if a town owner could set a tax that acts like the sales/retail tax? and the island owner could determin in what range the tax could be (ie sales tax is 5% and additional town tax could be between 1-3%)
