Recruiting Ops

Post by Magicfinger »

Hi all…

As we continue to get everything together towards the next major release of v0.5 its time for us to start looking at our own organisation again and how we are going to manage things as time progresses so to this end we are asking if anybody wants to volunteer to be a game op.

We are looking to recruit a few Ops for the starting worlds in the galaxy, particularly Biplane world. In particular we are looking for people who are willing to spend a fair bit of time sitting about on the Worlds (even if in small) and answering questions when possible.

In an ideal world we would like to have an Op sitting on all the main servers all the time, able and willing to help out any lost new player. Obviously this isn’t realistic given the current population of the game, but it is an aim of future expansion.

Okay so what’s in it for you?

-A nice little ‘Game Op’ label next to your forum name
-Access to the Mailing list for OP’s
-Access to the ‘Ops’ chat channel which is also frequented by the dev team and world owners
-Opportunity to arrange/organise in game events.

And… to follow this…what we would want from you.

-To be a representative of the game
-To make sure the dev team are aware of players who are suspected of cheating or if it is thought they need to be globally banned.
-To alert the dev team if one of the major servers crashes and there is nobody on chat channels to sort it.
-To try and keep the game community healthy.
-To help out new and old players.

We are not, of course, expecting any specific level of time commitment from anyone who applies- any time you can spend helping out at all is gratefully received – but frequent and active players are more likely to be chosen and if an extended period of inactivity is noticed Op’s will be removed.

So if this is something you are interested in please send an email to magicfinger@theuniversal.net please give your age when applying although it is not out of the question applications for under 16’s will need to be considered carefully.

Good luck
