Credits?
Before I visited the forums, I exchanged a bunch of money on biplaneworld for prestige and got stuck trying to convert it to credits, so I visited the forums and found a post that said that !resetme would put me by the station with enough credits to buy an infimp drive. It put me by the station, but I still had 20cr and the drive costs 25cr. Any other ways to earn credits?
mm, ok.. ive update the gal server so that a !resetme will give ya enough at the start to either buy an infimp (if you want to go off exploring worlds), or a cargo transport & bay if you want to try out the trading stuff. (Which is still very much wip)
I aint reset the gal yet as it'll probably need doin again soon when more of the gal econ, bounty hunting and trade features are in - so i figure theres not much point jus yet.
There'll be a new 0.46.0 client up in a bit that gives ya the ability to blow each other up in space (amongst other things).. At the moment theres no repercussions to that other than being reset back to the nearest space station .. lata on therell be potential to steal cargo and destroy ships - and of course various repercussions and limits to ensure it doesnt happen in a way that spoils gameplay.
Just to re-iterate what ive said on the news page before.. the current plan is to build towards a nice 0.50 version with all this sorta stuff balanced and playing nicely.... Don't expect that to happen straight away! :]

Its all a new system now so you know about as much as anyone..
Gal creds you get now by trading goods between space stations. Buy 10 'foodstuffs' at one space station for 0.4cr, and sell em somewhere else for 0.6cr and you'll have made yourself 2.0cr. Basic trading stuff :]
Currently, the gal trading economy is at about stage 1 of 10 of completion, so there's lil opportunity for profit atm, theres not much help to make the task easier (things like the trade report screen will be activated later to give you a summary of the prices available in each system) and the gal will be reset somepoint soon so theres prolly not much point even bothering
Later on, therell also be other methods for getting credits - you'll be able to steal cargo by destroying other ships in space, earn bounties for killing pirates who've been stealing cargo, etc etc.
The same point about the reset applies to 'gal prestige' which is the system where you can exchange kudos or sheckles earnt on a world to the aforementioned 'galactic prestige'. Tho its possible and more practical to earn prestige atm, its worthless other than as a rather feeble status symbol, so again, its probably not worth bothering just yet
