Note on full installer layout changes

Post by Mit »

Mornin :]
The 1.41.9 full installer has a slightly different layout for the folders used by the game - this is to allow separate 'subgame clients' (more info on that lata) to be installed using the same layout and to share the core files used by the game. While there i've also changed the default folder from program files/universal to program files/TheUniversal which ive been meaning to do for ages..

For most of you i doubt this'll matter much, but i figure it worth mentioning now to avoid
any confusion when u get the next patches or installers.
(FYI, The installer now creates a galaxy.exe in the root of program files/theuniversal (rather than in the clients subdirectory), that itself triggers execution of 'Clients\TheUniversal.exe'. If you have trouble updating, make sure the galaxy.exe your shortcuts etc are pointing to is the one in the root, as the one in 'clients' is now redundant. If, for simplicity, you want to continue use the default layout (and avoid having to redownload models etc) renaming the program files/universal folder to program files/theuniversal should be fine too.)
I won't do it again, promise. :]

There's a missing graphic, is all. The menu's still there, just not rendering. Press end as usual to "continue game".

The whole thing is a little ficked Mit :) Btw it doesn't affect normal play, it's a world owner thing for anyone that's starting to worry. See my Client Conflict thread in World Setup - cheers.
