A good idea for an economy, Star Craft Style
Would put the high demand on players:
Startport Model for Main Gov building(Colonizer?), buys (some sort of raw ore)
Need ore to construct buildings(players on both teams must hunt for raw ore<gov buildings>)and take it too the Colonizer(makes raw ore into Building Material)
then they go off and construct what they want, yeah kinda like Wingsfield idea but without the 0 materials needed(as in yes, you must get stuff too build), all together this sounds like Reina Roja, Wingsfield, and star craft rolled into one
Just clicked in my head..
If i ever could I would make Camalot. A warcon thats medival with castles and horse;s and big wooden gates and such. A reina roja type map size with all the pretty views, 4 teams each representing one of the old empires. The church would be a royalty family of op's who make sure all runs smoothly, like in real life. Vehicles would be archer uni, infantry uni, horses, horse drawn carriges, war calvery, chariot (vehicles that can hurt builds>) balista, catapault. Of course the economy within the castles walls and towers and gates would be the basics, shops for food and a well for water, the town plinth would be a keep, blacksmith shops, butchers and houses. Outside would be big farms with fields and grazing lands. It would carry on a lot of ideas from reina as I think it fits well. There would be a block on the heavy weapons for 1 month. The landscape would be a lush european landscape, much like you see in ireland. Sunny days and meadows with steams, the occasional lake or forest. Just my idea of the best island everrrrr.

sorta like that world that zar was testing, but you could build your own mines there. Yeah, it does sound quite good, make the building make enough ore, make it a normal econ/battle world, and it will be very cool you'd need to make buildings cost a lot though, so the island wouldnt fill up so quickly..
you'll need like, to save up and build your own vehicle etc to store it (like on wings field) but malk, yeah, good idea (sorry if my grammar is a but jittery, probably the caffene)
wow, i thought i was gonna get a crap loud of stupid BS from everyone, but no they totally agree, see my thing is abit diff from wingsfield, you have to use the ore to do anything in the game, inside and out, without it, everyone dies, crap might aswell make it food, and then another building that melts the ore into drinks, i dunno, but i cant afford 100 dollars, and then 40 dollars a month, thats like taking me back to 1999 and EQ monthly payments.
I understand what you mean, simplify the trading to just one item to make others, and then the emphasis on the world will be much more focused on stocking.....hm, cool

From a modelling perspective... medieval cool, but it'd take months to build archers and horses and chariots and the rest of the content. Would be great tho, wouldn't it :] Some of this stuff is already work in progress but don't expect it any time soon... i suspect just animating the horse i'm building will take a few weeks :)

that pretty much IS what the testing was. the mines mined transium to use to make buildings which cost upto 60k transium . every single item the buildings made also took upto 60k transium. transium was used to repair buildings too.
diden't seem like alot of people liked playing it
well, not how it was anyway, it could probably use a bunch of tweaking and altering to make it more enjoyable.
i still have the island and could toss it on Tholatin for you to play thier if you want, and could further alter it based on your suggestions.

Zar, it was a great world, the only thing that sucked was that it was too easy to destroy buildings
change that, then make a mega building type for making transium (can hold max of 100,000 say but costs just as much to build) and make it's health through the roof....
it was just too easy for someone to ruin 2 days worth of work
I think it has great potential, just needs a bit of tweaking like you said zar, i'm happy to help with balance etc if you like
