you do realize there's a limit on players that can be in a given channel, and that if we didn't have that limit the potential bandwidth usage would be so severe that we'd no longer be able to offer that feature, right?
of course if you'd like to create forum1, forum2, etc; that's all fine and good.
generally, chat should be used to talk to groups you routinely play with or feel like talking to though. you can join openbeta if you want to get newbies who actually read a manual, since i believe that's the example channel, and a number of folks are already on there.
the chat commands for those who aren't aware:
?setchat channelname,channelname2,channelname3, etc
there's a limit of 6 or so channels iirc.
prepending ; or ;1; will talk in channel 1.
;2; for channel two. ;3; for channel 3, etc.
?chat will display who's currently chatting in each channel.
