for the past few days i've been thinking of resetting zoric. main reason being because its a pain in the damned ass to constantly work on. alot of people have said its a good system, but it goes too slow. even though it only takes 1-2 real days per advancement. it could go faster, but then i'd be stuck updating the island every day or more then once a day. this in itself isen't *too* bad. but with new buildings thier needs to be new models or some other way to easily distinguish them from other buildings and this is where the main problem comes in. its a pain in the butt trying to make several new models every day for the changes on the island. sure, they could be left useing similer models as other buildings, or several things useing the same models, but that just looks like crap to me and i'd rather not have the island runing then have it look like crap. plus i'm getting a job soon so i wont have as much time to do all the work on it.
so, the main thing i'm thinking of is resetting the island and putting the whole advancing economy idea on hold until after i have made all the models and other stuff needed for it. after completed, it will be used for the zoric running at that time.
if anybody has any opinions about a reset, please post them.

its hard to say, is there any way someone could help designing the building (sysop or even basic user who know how to texture?) or make the advancement slower sothat you gain time between update. but in the same time, zoric is already slow, so slow down wouldn't be great...

idea(s) for zoric 10:
-war between 2 or more 'island' with (if possible) a random on where new comers spawn with no mean (at the begining) to join other team. then, lower level of water or destroy a wall whatever and engage a war between the two parts (with gain of kudos or sheckles)
-economy would be boosted by the raging battle (with security if someone try to destroy building when no-one else is connected or very expensive ammo), well it need lots of player (at least during battle) but it would be very fun
-if idea of warcon isn't good well, an unreal or surrealist or even futuristic (cause gyruss and sabrada are contemporary of our true world) would be great

Alright, here's a pitch to keep the same idea, but make it slightly easier on yourself. Make it so that there are more than 1 stone, or whatever that buys goods. Each of these would be dedicated to a particular type of building. The purpose of these buildings would be to create something to the order of blueprints that would go into the actual construction of that building. For instance, in order to make a wood cutter, you would need the usual standard materials, as well as lumberjacking. Setting the special item as part of the building requirements. More basic buildings wouldn't need any such plans since they're well, basic.
You could technically implement this with the current world since it's already at a point where the typical modern buildings can be used, and would save some people from having to start over completely.
The stones would however need smaller quantities and less time to make a final product, or else some people might have problems. There should also be a gov building which buys back these plans and resells them so that people aren't screwed if dependant markets take a sudden dive. This also means that people can still make money selling produced goods to the stone, getting the plans, and selling them to this "store".

would still need to change the items etc and the stones, and the bdat as buildings came in and the models, etc. except with 2 stones, it'd be going faster. especially with the les items needed.
