Better ship?

Post by VDZ »

I have 0 capacity, which means I can't try the Galactic Trade System.
I've been told that I need a better ship.
How/Where do I get one, and how much will it cost?

you need a cargo bay to trade stuff.
Far as i know there aint any available to buy yet.. this is stuff that'll get activated over the next week or two. A basic/small cargo bay will cost in the region of 10cr.

The plan for the next few weeks, as well as making cargo bays n suchlike available, is to get the galaxy server to start controlling the trade prices for items, based on an internal supply and demand system designed so that profitable trades will be possible without ending up situations where certain trade routes permanently earn you the best profit. (i.e. when you make a trade, the buy price of the items u sell will decrease and/or the sell price will increase).
0.1.35 client was built with all this in mind, so hopefully this can all be done on the gal server without needing an update of the client.
I'll post full details on this once it becomes available.

And btw, another part of the plan for this is to start allocating monthly prizes for the most profitable galactic traders - ranging from naming your own star to getting a free world, free ps2 games or a real cash prize.

:!: Mit - thats gonna get expensive. Even if its just $10 for first prize, thats $120 per year you could use elsewhere. Only offer prizes once you get some real cash flow coming in

aye aye :].
This is still the general plan, but (as usual) the timeframe will need to be changed a bit.. Im on holiday over christmas and particularly busy at work from now till the end of january - so 'a few weeks' might actually need to be 'a few months'..
