The problem, though, is that hardly anyone will agree to sit lower on the production chain. Everyone wants to be at the top. And committees are notoriously bad at agreeing on things. I should know, I've sat on my fair share. Zaroba: Yes, Kings are not usually elected. But there are exceptions. For e...

It Is Time
Ladies and Gents, the time has come. We have been spending the past few weeks in anarchy, with each player trying to be the one who invents the next big thing, with no leadership, just waiting for someone to invent enough to be 'crowned' the leader. Well, I say no more. As alluded to by Keyalha in a...

My personal guess is some kind of server issue on Mit's end. Perhaps, in light of the recent discovery, there are tons of people online, and the server is unable to accept any more traffic. Hope the problem goes away soon, because if I can't feed my character in the next two hours, he dies. And I lo...

graaaahhh mit broke TU
I've been stuck on the "Connecting to World" screen for half an hour. I have tried closing and restarting multiple times, even restarting my computer, and my internet connection is stellar. AND YET NO TU. GRAAAAAHHHHHHH

Current State of Affairs Re: linux compatibility?
So, I have not played in a very long while. Probably not since 2008 or 2009, when I got a laptop that actually had some cpu and gpu power (my old desktop that had TU and my world client had 512 mb ram and 60 gb storage space. bought it in 2002), and decided that migrating TU and the world server wou...

Well, the turret turns with the mouse just fine, it's just the firing that's problematic. And what Mishka says has been confirmed; BasicAim doesn't work either. By the by, anyone have ideas as to how one might animate an AT-AT Walker vehicle? I'm thinking the entire model itself would have to move b...

turrets on vehicles
Okay, I feel like I should know this. On my developing star wars-esque world, it has come to my attention that AT-AT Walkers (model nearly finished, working on texturing at the moment, will try to tackle animation later) should be able to turn their heads to shoot. I believe this can be done through...

That doesn't make any sense though. The highest-poly model I've got here is I think 40,000 polys, which while it works fine with 1 vehicle on the world (me) will of course need to be simplified down to a lower-poly version later. Anyways, that 40,000-poly version is far less than some other models I...

Model Converter Problems
So, I'm essentially scrapping my world and starting over. The world was originally an economy-type world, but as I got the hang of landscaping and vehicle control settings, I got more and more into doing more of that. And then once I started getting the hang of customizing weapons, I got more and mo...

Alright, thanks for the advice. I have some freetime tomorrow, I'm going to try and get a snazzy-looking aptera in under 2k polys. I got a working 3ds model of the original, btw, and on my not-yet-public world of one person with a blank white texture, it is daaaamn fine. Not sure how fps will hold u...

Here's the .gmax and .3ds models. Looking back on the model, even if it turned out to be too big to use as a .atm model, it still turned out pretty well, so it wasn't a complete waste of time.
